Its been three days since this video was posted on WhatsApp pages, yet to date I have not heard any politician from the Government backbench, or any government Minister or any Governor, or any leader of substance, come out and said something in condemnation against the graphics in video that depicted a deliberate act of crime against humanity.

The video I am referring to shows three women tied by the hand and legs for allegations of practicing sorcery.

This barbaric act of torture, threat and intimidation is a deliberate act of a systematic campaign of sorts, that causes human suffering, and this should not be allowed to happen in this day and age. The fact that it did failed to have immediately drawn the attention of Political leaders, who should be ultimately jumping over themselves to utter a few words of condemnation and openly show their disgust, and hate toward the perpetration of this heinous crime, simply suggest they could not give a flying … about the law and order, civility, and the rule of law to prevail.

I find the silence of MPs in the government rank very irresponsible and interprete it as a deliberate concealment and suppression of accountability which in the end leads to a denial of responsibility.

Too often we hear the Opposition calling out condemnation on matters of national interest but we hardly ever hear the MPs from the government ranks openly make condemnation especially on this matter of Humans Right.
